One of the hardest parts of dropping the big question is the nervousness that comes with your choice of ring. What if she doesn't like it? What if it's too cheap?

Well today we are going to talk all about finding the perfect ring without them ever knowing!

BUDGET

First of all, let's start with the basics. Have a budget in mind and stick to it! You don't want to be spending more than you can afford and ending up further in debt.

You probably don't want to start your new life with them making huge payments, no matter how beautiful that ring is!

FIND THEIR STYLE

Next you want to start figuring out what she likes when it comes to jewelry. Does she like gold? Silver? A mix of both? What kind of design is she drawn to? Take not of all of this!

Obviously asking them yourself spoils the whole "surprise" part of this post. If you're fine with that and she's open to it, go ahead! Otherwise try asking her friends or family members that you trust.

They might know what she likes without giving away the surprise. Volunteering someone to be the superspy and do your digging for you is also a great way to play it safe.

Another option you have is to search through their jewelry collection and take note of the styles she prefers. Nobody said this would be easy! Keeping it a surprise is part of the fun.

EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

Now that you have a good idea of their style, it's time to figure out other important factors like the carat size, cut and clarity of the ring. Again, asking around is a great way to get some ideas without giving away the surprise.

When selecting the right ring, there's a few different things to consider as far as style. For example, if she prefers a more simple and elegant look, then you may want to go with a solitaire design.

If she likes something a bit more flashy, then maybe go for a band-style ring that has small stones around it or even a halo design.

Other cut styles include the round, princess, oval and marquise. Each of these cuts have their own unique benefits and qualities! There's lots of different cuts to consider, and even different types of gold and silver!

Narrowing it down comes down to knowing her and what she likes. If they love their rose gold jewelry, there's your answer!

Whatever you end up narrowing down as the style, cut, and color of choice then you can begin shopping.

SHOPPING

When it's time to actually shop around for the ring. Doing some online research is a great way to get an idea of what’s out there and how much it will cost.

There are also a lot of online only shops that offer great deals.

It's always best to find a dealer that you know does good business, or someone you trust. But if budget is really tight, online is a great way to get your hands on the perfect ring without breaking the bank.

At the end of the day, you want your partner to love their ring just as much as you do - so put in that time and effort for them!

FINAL TOUCHES

Once you've got the ring picked out, it's time to add those little extra touches. Engraving is always a nice way to add a personal touch to your ring.

You can also have a small diamond or gemstone added to the band for an encore that'll make your ring stand out.

BOTTOM LINE

At this point, you've got the perfect ring ready to go! All that's left is to find the perfect way to propose. With all of these steps taken care of though, you're well on your way to finding the right partner and creating a beautiful life together.

Best of luck and remember, it's the thought that counts!
