Shy Couples and Wedding Photography

Getting married is supposed to be an incredible moment full of magic where all eyes are on you. But that's the point...all eyes are on you! And if you're an introverted or shy couple, the thought of being photographed on your wedding day might be a bit nerve-wracking.

If that's the case for you, here are five tips to help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera.

TALK TO YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

Connecting with your photographer before the big day is a great way to help you feel more at ease. Schedule a call or an in-person meeting so you can get to know each other and establish a connection.

This will make it easier for your photographer to understand what makes you both comfortable and how they can best capture beautiful photos.

DO A PRACTICE RUN

Having a practice run before your wedding day can give you the confidence to be yourself in front of the camera. This could mean doing an engagement shoot or simply scheduling some time with your photographer where they can help you practice different poses, angles, and expressions.

Depending on how you do this, you'll also get a look at photos of yourselves, which can be very helpful in helping you feel more confident and prepared for the real thing.

SCHEDULE DOWNTIME FOR YOURSELVES

Taking a few minutes to yourself mid-day is an excellent way to relax and get away from any stress or awkwardness that might have built up.

Schedule breaks where you can recharge and be alone, or spend some time with your partner away from the limelight and enjoy the quiet intimate moments with each other and nobody else.

HAVE A SUPPORT SYSTEM ON THE DAY

Having a support system of close friends and family on the day can be incredibly helpful for shy couples.

Having their familiar presence around you will remind you that you have people in your corner who love and value you no

IGNORE EVERYTHING AND RELAX

Above all, try to just be yourself and ignore everything else. Taking photos isn't about being perfect, it's about capturing the real moments between you and your partner. As long as you are relaxed, smiling and having fun in your own way - that is what will shine through in your photos.

So forget about any nerves or expectations, and just enjoy the day.

The most important thing to remember is that your wedding day should be a celebration of you and your love in whatever way makes you feel comfortable, so don’t worry too much about what other people think or expect – it's your special day!

With these tips in mind, we trust that you’ll have an amazing time being photographed on your wedding day.

Happy wedding planning! :)
